I took a cute baby print for the background. Picking 4 colors from it, I found 4 fabrics--it takes just one 5" strip each to get the 4 slices. I cut 4 5" background strips into the 16 slices needed. Pair up, then pinwheel up--and I had 4 fast blocks for a baby quilt.
I like the pinwheels with a floating background border. It keeps the pinwheels distinct and not crowded.
Funny--I was just looking at this style pinwheel to work into a quilt. I like the colors you chose.
